1920s 9ct gold Waltham Full Hunter Pocket Watch for Thomas Russell

  • The watch has a seven-jewel stem-winding movement, which is working nicely. The movement is the Marquis grade but was re-named Tempus for Thomas Russell, their logo included the wording Tempus Fugit.
  • The movement is signed American Waltham USA, Tempus, and it has the serial number 21772947, which dates it back to around 1920. An inner-hinged 9ct gold cover protects the movement.
  • The watch measures 50mm in diameter, excluding the winding stem and the loop.
  • The case is a 9ct gold Russell model from the Illinois Watch Case Company.
  • The stepped design is a feature often seen in Thomas Russell's cases. The case is in very nice condition.
  • The winding crown pushes in to open the front. Inside, there is a glass lens which is in lovely condition.
  • The dial is signed with the Thomas Russell winged wheel logo, together with Waltham USA. Thomas Russell was a well-respected business, having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
